Our dynamic and highly effective Communications team work closely together to create focussed, far-reaching and impactful campaigns that drive sales.
What you’ll be doing
Your role will be to create, implement and measure publicity campaigns for general and specialist titles in order to maximise sales and raise the profile of our authors, brands and titles. Working across all John Murray Press imprints, your remit will include business, politics, personal performance and gender issues titles, as well as general fiction and non-fiction. You will:
- build and maintain high quality relationships with authors, agents and media, including specialist press.
- liaise closely with editorial, sales and marketing colleagues in the UK and other territories to ensure comprehensive campaigns across all platforms
- manage budgets for campaign activity
- organise and accompany authors to publicity events within the UK
- have good working knowledge of social media, working with the marketing and editorial team to create content and build communities around imprints and brands
- keep up-to-date with developments in the industry, share experiences and ideas for improvements
Who we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will be passionate about books; have interest and contacts in key areas such as business, personal performance and gender issues; be proactive, bringing creativity and enthusiasm to the role; possess exceptional communication skills and be highly organised. They will have experience pitching to and working with media and event organisers, with a background in publicity or relevant subject areas.
