The Irish Franciscans

The Irish Franciscan Province was established in 1230. For nearly 800 years, the Irish friars have striven to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ following the example of Francis of Assisi, ministering to people throughout Ireland and overseas. The vision of St Francis was a simple one: he saw himself as living in a universe that reflected the beauty of God, sharing it with other creatures who he regarded as his brothers and sisters. The Franciscans devote their lives to the search for God in prayer, simplicity, brotherhood and service to others. http://www.franciscans.ie
